Business never flows quite the way I plan it. It is not a case of poor planning, goals not set, or actions not followed through on. It is simply a case of un-seen opportunities; opportunities, that as a business person, I need to evaluate and determine whether or not they are right for me and my company.

Take for example the administration of the HIP website and the development of this newsletter. According to my initial plans, my website was to be fully operational, including a full range of non- profit articles and resources, sample work, and testimonials within six months of starting the business. However as I come to the end of year two, I am still working through the puzzle of building and growing my website.

My e-newsletter is much the same, as I navigate the waters of planning, coordinating and launching this e-newsletter, my brain keeps spinning off to examine the possibilities. So much so, that my nights have been really short lately! ;-)

With both my website and newsletter, there are always new things to add, new ideas to explore, and new issues emerging in the non profit sector; so many new ideas and concepts that at times I feel a little overwhelmed. All I can say is thank goodness for a good techie who translates my technical vision into reality.

However, in spite of working on both of these projects off the side of my desk, at odd hours and around existing contracts, they are both coming along fine. The reality is that I grateful for the range of exciting and rewarding projects that have come my way and distracted me from my administrative work! ;-) Ah, what's life without a little distraction?

As I launch the first edition of this newsletter and an update to my website, I want to thank the many people who have helped HIP Strategic Consulting grow over the past two years. It has been a pleasure, an ongoing learning experience, and an empowering experience to surround myself with individuals who are passionate about what they do.

It's time to sign off; I hear my daughter and husband arising for the day. So, I am off to balance my world… and enjoy the company of my wonderful family.

Have a great day!

Your friend,

Angie J
